Troubleshooting
Common error messages and how to fix them — including a friendly explanation of Morning error 2408 and past-date issues.
Connection to Morning failed
This is usually wrong credentials. Make sure the API key and secret were copied in full, with no stray spaces, and that your Morning account has active API access.
- 1
Generate a fresh key pair
If you're not sure, generate a new pair in Morning and enter it again.
- 2
Check the account is active
Confirm your Morning account is active and that API access is enabled on it.
Details aren't auto-filling
If the customer name or amount doesn't load into the issuance screen, it's almost always column mapping. Check that the right columns are mapped, and that the item itself has a value in those columns.
Morning error 2408 — past date
Morning error 2408 appears when you try to issue a document with a date that's already closed for reporting — a date earlier than the period still open in your account. In plain terms: the system won't let you back-date a document into a period that's already been closed.
- 1
Issue with today's date
In most cases the fix is simply to issue the document with today's date, not a past date.
- 2
Check the reporting period in Morning
If you truly need an earlier date, confirm with Morning that the period is still open for reporting.
A document wasn't created
Make sure the amount is valid (a positive number), the document type is appropriate, and all required fields are filled. If the issue was blocked by the amount limit, correct the amount or update the limit in settings.
